Ever the teaser, Executive Producer Ryan Murphy posted a short clip to his Instagram account this morning revealing the title and – apparently – the general theme (?) of the upcoming 9th season of his popular horror anthology series, American Horror Story.
In what appears to be a homage to slasher films of the 1980’s, Season 9 is titled AHS: 1984, and the teaser clip features a woman being chased through the woods by someone with a very large knife a la Friday The 13th.
The only confirmed cast members for 1984 so far are Emma Roberts and Olympian Gus Kenworthy.
Regular cast member and fan favorite Evan Peters has said he will not appear this season.
Will there be more to 1984’s theme than slashers? So far only Ryan Murphy knows for sure.
AHS: 1984 premieres this fall on FX.
