Forget everything that you think you know. It’s about to get mystical up in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as evidenced in the mind-bending new teaser trailer for the upcoming Doctor Strange.
Benedict Cumberbatch plays Stephen Strange, a top neuro-surgeon who is injured in a career-ending car accident. On a journey to find healing, he encounters the Ancient One (an ambiguous, bald, bad-ass Tilda Swinton) who mentors him in the hidden world of mystic arts.
Strange eventually rises to become the Sorcerer Supreme, the primary defender of Earth against magical and mystical threats, and uses alternate dimensions, spells and sweet supernatural tools such as the Cloak of Invisibility and the Eye of Agamotto to aid him.
The film also stars Chiwetel Ejiofor, Rachel McAdams and Mads Mikkelson.
Produced by Marvel Studios and directed by Scott Derrickson (The Exorcism of Emily Rose, Sinister, Deliver Us From Evil), Doctor Strange will arrive in theaters to cast its spell on Friday, November 4th.
