The large-scale festival features two full days of frights, freaks, spooks and scares.
So-Cal Halloween fans won’t have to wait for October to get their spook on – thanks to the upcoming Midsummer Scream Halloween Festival taking place July 30th and 31st at the Long Beach Convention Center.
Midsummer Scream is a large-scale, two-day festival celebrating the spirit of Halloween, haunts and horror. The event will feature a massive show floor of vendors and exhibitors, haunted attractions and experiences, live entertainment and world-class panel presentations.
A major component of the Midsummer Scream festival will be the Hall of Shadows dark zone, featuring roaming monsters, entertainment, and 9 terrifying mini-haunted attractions. The Hall of Shadows will occupy more than one third of the Halloween festival’s 90,000 square-foot show floor this year, giving thousands of fans the opportunity to preview the handiwork of some of Southern California’s hottest home and professional haunts throughout the weekend – all included with their admission to Midsummer Scream.

In addition to the haunted attractions, those brave enough to venture into Hall of Shadows will experience Toxicity – a full-blown scare zone created by Larry Bones and his crew at Bone Yard Effects, plus high-energy performances by the Decayed Brigade slider team three times each day, and many terrifying monsters lurking in the fog, waiting to pounce!

In addition to the haunts of Hall of Shadows, there will be a number of immersive, horror-themed experiences throughout the show-floor, such as Screenshot Productions Presents: Bardo Thodol (The Tibetan Book of the Dead) and, a new interactive, immersive experience from ALONE, inc. Be thrilled by a theme park’s worth of walk thru mazes, virtual reality haunts, escape rooms, and immersive experiences all weekend long at Midsummer Scream!
The festival will also play host to a number of spooky world-class panels and presentations from major haunted attractions like Queen Mary’s Dark Harbor, Knott’s Scary Farm and Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights. Other featured presenters include Walt Disney Imagineering, American Horror Story Hotel, and The Winchester Mystery House, who will have a team on hand to discuss the history of the property and share rare photographs, never-before-seen footage, and ghost stories!
Midsummer Scream will also feature more than 150 vendors and exhibitors, Halloween, horror and haunt-centric classes and make-and-take-workshops, celebrity guest appearances, live entertainment, live horror theater performances, black cat adoptions, and a Saturday night costume party featuring an Oingo Boingo Dance Party!
