It’s like we’ve died and gone to eighties heaven!
Filming on the eighties camp-slasher-inspired American Horror Story: 1984 has officially commenced, and today Executive Producer / Co-Creator Ryan Murphy shared a fun cast reveal video via his Instagram account that’s, like, so totally eighties!
The video, which appears to be a first-day-of-shooting camera test compilation set to Dan Harmon’s 1984 hit tune “I Can Dream About You,” features returning cast members from prior seasons including Emma Roberts, Cody Fern, Billie Lourd and Leslie Grossman, along with quite a few AHS newcomers, such as Glee alum Matthew Morrison, who makes a… ahem… *big*… entrance, to say the least,
Other AHS freshmen featured in the video include Angelica Ross of Pose, Olympic skier Gus Kenworthy (who will play Roberts’ boyfriend), Dear White People‘s DeRon Horton, and Zach Villa.
And while it had been announced that long time fan favorites Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters will not star in the show this season (at least, not at the same capacity as they normally would), it was very exciting to see that John Carroll Lynch is returning.

Fans will remember Carroll Lynch from his iconic role as Twisty the Clown in AHS: Freakshow, and from the looks of this new video, he will once again be playing a killer…or so we assume. As with all things AHS, looks can certainly be deceiving!
American Horror Story: 1984 will premiere September 18th on FX
