Check out this possible portal to hell courtesy of Google Maps.

Let’s all take a trip to hell, maybe, thanks to Google Street View…

At first glance, the Brazilian street of “R. Pref. Osmar Cunha,” in the State of Santa Catarina seems like any other normal street. But, as reported by The Sun, a Reddit user recently discovered while using Google Street View that there is actually something intensely freaky going on here.

As you navigate down the road in Google Street View, what starts out as a sunny street filled with cars, trees and people suddenly and inexplicably descends into a nightmarish landscape of almost total darkness. Even more scary is that if you turn around in the blackness there appears to be a lone, green, human-like figure lurking behind you, following you wherever you move.

Dear god, what is that? (image via Google Maps)

At times the ghostly figure seems to be getting closer. An outline of what appears to be shoulders and a partial face are visible. Yikes!

According to The Sun, some people have speculated that the mysterious figure is “some kind of demonic spirit, or even the devil himself.” A more rational explanation could be that we are seeing some kind of glitch in the mapping system, or that an error occurred with the camera used to take the initial images.

So, is this a glitch in the Google Street View system or a glitch in the matrix? Are we viewing a technical error, or a portal to hell? Could it be a viral marketing campaign for a horror movie like Sadako vs Kayako?

You can investigate the street here and then decide for yourself – but prepare to be creeped out.

Let’s just hope that what happens in Google Street View, stays in Google Street View!!
