The East Village-based Beetle House will feature cocktails such as the ‘Beetlejuice,’ ‘The headless horseman,’ the ‘Jack skellington,’ and, ‘This is Halloween!’
Fans of Tim Burton, rejoice! It’s (almost) showtime!
As reported by Gothamist and East Village blog EV Grieve, the owners of the Will Ferrell-themed NYC bar Stay Classy New York are opening up a brand-new bar and restaurant, and this one is inspired by the works of none other than Tim Burton – the spooky, quirky and seemingly endlessly imaginative artist and movie-maker known for films such as Beetlejuice, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Charlie and The Chocolate Factory, Edward Scissorhands, Sleepy Hollow (and too many others to name).
According to its website, Beetle House NYC will feature “an odd and unusual atmosphere draped in mystery and fun.”
In addition to the aforementioned cinematically-themed cocktails, the bar’s menu includes “custom-made poisons, potions and elixers” like “The chocolate factory martini,” “Edward’s lemonade,” and “The Barber’s bloody mary.”

The Beetle House food menu playfully features “Meat sourced locally from 100% innocent humans captured wild on the streets of NYC. (Actually organic chemical free meats),” and includes deliciously macabre-sounding dishes like, “Sweeney Beef,” “Edward Burger Hands,” and “Nightmare” hot wings.
Located at 308 East Sixth Street, Beetle House NYC is scheduled to open “late April.”
For those of us not in NYC, we can’t think of a better time to visit. With the recent opening of a Psycho house recreation on the rooftop of the Met Museum, it’s shaping up to be a delightfully creepy summer in the Big Apple.
In the meantime, we can always dream that a Tim Burton-themed bar might eventually open up on the West Coast. Tim Burton was, after all, born in Burbank.
What do you think about the Beetle House? As for us, our bags are already packed…
