A Michigan man has made the news over mysterious footage he captured at Lake Superior last week.
Is this is a crew of ghostly pirates or an optical illusion?
Jason Asselin posted the video on YouTube on October 10th with the following caption:
“Saturday evening far off coast from Marquette, Michigan appeared this mysterious ship that had to be gigantic! Almost as if a ghost ship was showing itself to the world.. Even if it was a ship, what could be that tall in these choppy waves? “
According to MSN, Asselin was “taking in the fall foliage with a friend” when they spotted a rainbow and began to snap some photos.
That’s when Asselin noticed the ghostly object.
“It really just didn’t belong there, I’ve seen ships before and it looked nothing like that,” Asselin said, adding “I’ve been there before and never saw it before.”
Commenters on the video have speculated that this might be a case of Fata Morgana – a type of mirage that greatly distorts the object/s on which they are based. However, so far, no official explanation has been offered.
Asselin maintains that the experience was a spooky one for him.
“I’ve seen strange things before — this sits up there with the best of them for sure.”
After filming for a bit the men became distracted and eventually shifted focus off the object.
“When I looked back there was nothing,” said Asselin. “It had disappeared.”

What do you guys think? Is it a ghost ship, or merely an optical illusion? We actually think it could be one of Daenerys Targaryen’s Westerosi-bound ships gone off-course.
(Kidding!).
But seriously, it could be a crew of ghostly pirates though, right?

I am Kevin’s guitarist, this was something in person seemed vivid and unexplainable. It was probably the last thing we expected to see that day !!
