Fans of sci-fi, horror and fantasy rejoice – Amazing Stories is coming back!
Who remembers Amazing Stories?!
For those not old enough to recall its original 2-season run on NBC back in 1985-87, Amazing Stories was a super cool anthology series from Steven Spielberg which featured a variety of memorable tales in the fantasy, horror and sci-fi genre (and a sweet opening sequence which can be seen above, featuring a theme song by the legendary John Williams). Each episode featured a new tale and a different director including such names as Martin Scorsese and Joe Dante.
As reported today by The Hollywood Reporter, digital giant Apple, in partnership with NBCUniversal, is bringing back the beloved series as part of it’s scripted programming strategy. Bryan Fuller (Pushing Daisies, Hannibal, American Gods) will helm.
New details are sparse at this time but we love a good anthology series and can only hope that the reboot brings us the same level of spooks, thrills and wonder as the original.
