Someone give this woman an Oscar for her Stephen King / Misery / Kathy Bates inspired prank in which she goes Annie Wilkes on a Barnes and Noble clerk.
“Isn’t there anybody here who knows about Paul Sheldon?!”
Kathy Bates won an Oscar for her performance in the 1990 film adaptation of Stephen King’s Misery, in which her character, nurse-turned-psychotic-super-fan Annie Wilkes, holds captive and tortures her favorite author, Paul Sheldon (James Caan), the author of the fictional “Misery” series of books.
The folks at this Barnes and Noble are obviously not super-fans of Stephen King as they seem to have missed the reference…
The prank was pulled by a local theater group in Virginia who was putting on a stage adaptation of Misery at the time.
